We would love to have you join us as we grow together as a faith community.
We want to open the door for you to participate at whatever level of involvement you are available. Let this schedule serve as an invitation to step in to worship, learn, and serve at any time on Sundays! Below this simple schedule are descriptions of what happens when we meet.

We want to open the door for you to participate at whatever level of involvement you are available. Let this schedule serve as an invitation to step in to worship, learn, and serve at any time on Sundays!
Meet at the Chamber to put the signs in the yard and arrange meeting room for worship and study. Technology needs to be cranked up and hymnals placed on table. Those working on the worship setting or Visio Divina may be adding their finishing touches.
Our worship is liturgical, but relaxed. We use the UMC hymnal, profess our faith with the Apostles' Creed, and begin the message with scripture from the Contemporary English Version of the Bible. The structure of worship is familiar with traditional elements, but there are opportunities for interaction, prayer for our community, and occasionally include songs from popular music through the years. When Communion converges with Jesus feeding thousands, we might sing Crowded Table by The Highwomen.
We make our transition between worship and study with a time of informal fellowship around light breakfast snacks and coffee. Several folks from the congregation will bring pastries, fruit, and maybe Conecuh sausage to share. Several of us will gather hymnals and catch up with one another before we begin our study. This is a time when some join us late or leave early if necessary. We have a "one room church" and we go with the flow... abundant grace for all!
We have been working together on church formation tasks such as naming our values and discerning our unique call and mission on the mountain and surrounding area! Coming Soon: This Advent season, we will study the book Christmas From the Backside by Ellsworth Kalas. Books have been ordered and we will begin the study as soon as it arrives! After Christmas, we will return to Being United Methodist in the Bible Belt by Belton Joyner. (Teachers: John Carr & Claudia Belyeu)
We do a quick pick up of the room and re-set the tables as we found them. We clean up the breakfast table and worship materials while discussing next steps.
Many Sunday's we continue our time together with lunch out together. It's a great time to get to know one another and enjoy being present in our community. We are regulars at Giovanni's, Beef 'O'Brady's, and BWW.
November 5 we have a meeting with our Ichnos coach, Rev. Kevin Thomas. He will meet us via Zoom. Some of us will gather at the Chamber and Zoom together while others log in from home. This is primarily Launch Team members, but all are welcome to participate! :::Look for other meeting announcements here.:::
